Open Position – Environmental Health Specialist
Join the talented, engaged, and inclusive workforce dedicated to creating a better North Dakota. Central Valley Health District’s Environmental Health Department is seeking a dynamic individual to fill a full-time Environmental Health Specialist position.
This position protects the community by conducting inspections, investigating complaints, providing education, and enforcing environmental health rules. This position will require travel throughout southeast central North Dakota, and some evening hours.
Requirements for the position include a baccalaureate degree in the physical, chemical, or biological sciences, including at least 30 semester or 45 quarter credits in a physical, chemical, or biological science and a valid driver’s license.
The candidate must have, or the ability to obtain, a ND Environmental Health Practitioner’s license within 60 days of date of hire. Also, the candidate must complete the Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS/RS) credential with the National Environmental Health Association within 5 years of date of hire.
