Nurses are available to see clients for the following services during regular office hours
(no appointment necessary unless indicated):
- Health Assessments Such as:
- Blood Pressure
- Blood Sugar Screening
- Hemoglobin Screening
- Urinalysis Screening
- Ear checks (infection, wax)
- Ear Irrigations
- Throat Cultures
- TB (tuberculosis) Testing
- Lipid profile (cholesterol) (by appointment)
- Footcare clinics 3 times a month (by appointment only)
- Immunizations (call for more information)
- Medication monitoring and setup
- Therapeutic procedures by Doctor's order (i.e. dressing changes, suture removal, catheter care, etc)
Homes:
Home visits are scheduled by appointment which is limited to once per week per client. All ages are eligible for home visitations. Clients receive home visitations by an RN for the following:
- Blood Pressure, Pulse, Respiration monitoring
- Blood Sugar Testing
- Medication Set Up and Monitoring
- Foot Care
- Weight Monitoring
- Other Nursing Services by Doctor Orders
Home clients meet a minimum of two of the following criteria:
- Limited mobility without assistance
- Visual handicap
- Dementia
- Dexterity problems
- Inability to complete task without supervision
- Unstable medical condition
- Physician order
Referrals can be made by:
- Clients themselves or Family Members
- Physicians, Nurses, Other Health Care Providers
- Schools, Social Workers, Other Agencies, or Concerned Citizens
County Nursing Health Maintenance Sites:
Health Maintenance clinics are conducted by nurses who provide the following services at the locations listed below:
- Blood Pressure, Pulse, Respiration Monitoring
- Blood Sugar Screening
- Medication Review
- Health counseling
- Foot and Nail care

Special Programs
1. Health Tracks
North Dakota Health Tracks is a preventive health program that is free for children age 0 to 21 who are eligible for Medicaid. Health Tracks pays for screenings, diagnosis, and treatment services to help prevent health problems from occurring or help keep health problems from becoming worse. Contact the Logan County Public Health Office for more information.
2. Injury Prevention Programs
CVHD conducts bicycle safety programs, safety information for latch-key children, and buckle-up (seat belt) safety information. |
