Body Art and Tattoo Facilities

The Environmental Health Division licenses and inspects those facilities that provide the following services: tattooing, body piercing, branding, subdermal implant, or scarification. Regulation and education for these facilities is performed in order to protect human health by reducing the risk of communicable disease outbreaks and injury from body art.

Training

North Dakota Administrative Code 33-41 requires compliance with 29 CFR Part 1910.1030 “Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens”.

The operator shall be certified in CPR.
